Default get past that brand loyalty

Is it a typo? I think you get past tangible things, so doesn't it have to be "get past that loyalty brand"? Or does it mean an abstract "loyalty" like "you can't abandon the loyalty fo that brand"?

2p)Hesitant to try generic? For the first time, buy only one box instead of six. Try it out and see if you can't get past that brand loyalty enough to save some real money. Best generic products? Canned fruit and vegetables, cereal and toaster pastries...

It's a metaphor. Or you could consider it as "getting past" something psychologically - just as you can "get over" something psychologically.
Note that it's "brand loyalty" not "loyalty brand" that has to be gotten past.

Thanks a lot! Does "some real money" mean "a big amount of money" not "cash", a physical meaning?

In BrE we would say "a large amount or lot of money" (as Raymott says) rather than "a big amount".
