    Default Preposition 'for' usage

    Hi, is it possible to say: 'She's studying for a lawyer.'

    What is this sentence supposed to mean? If she's studying to become a lawyer, then no.
    I am not a teacher.

    As an NES but not a teacher, "She was studying for a law degree" would work for me.

    She's studying for the bar.
    She's studying for the law exam.

    She's studying to be a lawyer.

    She's studying for a lawyer = (very unnatural) She's studying on behalf of a lawyer.
    Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.
