Please do not look up any more words in that online dictionary. I am appalled/stunned/amused at their suggestion that the word "beeves" is the plural of "beef".

I can see that you are not a fan of second-rate westerns.

@ Ju: I do not recommend watching second-rate westerns as a means of learning English. Most learners dictionaries will tell you what you want to know - note the '' after the word 'noun' in this definition. Note too, that in most of the meanings you are likely to need for the word 'air', there is no plural.

It would be okay if the dictionary stated that beeves is obsolete. It occurs in the King James version, which is still read and quoted.

Western is a genre of film. Westerns are usually set in the second half of the 19th century in the western (hence its name) states of the USA. Many people to do not have the discernment to recognise that westerns are the highest art form conceivable, believing them to be cliche-ridden, racist, sexist stories for little boys who never grew up. Second-rate westerns might be considered by such philistines to be be of very poor quality.

I'll concede that one or two Italian directors did make some westerns that were not quite as good as the best films in other genres.

Blazing Saddles I'll give you, but BTTF3 should be consigned to the nearest bin and never allowed to see daylight again!
