    I'll cobble up

From where does the expression "I'll cobble up something" originate?

As far as I know that phrase doesn't exist. I've never heard it - it would be at least archaic ...

I know it exists because my husand and myself use it and I've seen it used in forums on the Internet. I was just interested in how it came about. It means to make the best of what you've got to create something, eg use the ingredients available to make a meal. Jill
