    Default Where or Which?

Hello. I was hoping someone could help with this question.

This is a place _______ people can easily reach to find refreshment.

    1. in which 2. what 3. where 4. which

The book says that the correct answer is 4. which. However, I feel 3. where, is a possible correct answer.

Would anyone be able to help me with why 'where' shouldn't be used in this example?

I actually think "where" is better. But none of them are needed. When a relative pronoun is not the subject of a relative clause, it can usually be omitted.

'Which' is correct though, as Mike said, it can be omitted.

In my opinion, where is incorrect.

This is a place which/that/- people can easily reach to find refreshment
This is a place where people can easily go to find refreshment

In AE, "which" is frowned upon for restrictive clauses. "That" would work for me.
