    Which is correct:
    1-He might have to face the fate of death penalty.

    2-He might have to face the fate of the death penalty.

    Meaning: He might have to face the fate that is the death penalty.
    He might have to face the death penalty.

    I find them unnatural with "fate". Simply saying "He might have to face the death penalty" is the best way to say it. You might be able to say "His fate might be the death penalty" or "His fate might be death".
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Your second is better with "the death penalty". However, I agree that it would be the best without "the fate of".
