Default The narrator is a native speaker?

    Hi All,

I'd like to know the narrator is a native speaker or not?

Farewell to HK Chief Secretary David Ford (1993) - 1/2 - YouTube

    Regards,

I am not surprised that Raymott can't. I had a vague feeling that he wasn't a native speaker - though I would not have bet on it. Unfortunately, before I could make up my mind, I happened to read the text and see his name.

My 'very good indeed' in my last post was an understatement. His English is excellent

I don't think anyone can. A native speaker is not, by definition, a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. A native speaker can have a seemingly foreign accent just because that was the accent used in the environment where they acquired their first language.
