    Grades at Alevel

Hi, im really worried that i may not be able to get into the year 13 next year because of getting a u in my subjects. Do you know what an A and an U averages out to? or what a B and an E averages out to and any other combinations? It doesnt have to be exact i just want a rough idea of what it could add up to. Thank you for your time

I don't understand your question. Are you talking about grades in different subjects and an 'average' grade that is necessary to progress to year 13?

Whatever you mean, your teacher/tutor is the person to ask about your prospects for next year.

I'm slightly confused too. You have just finished your GCSEs presumably and you want to carry on into the Sixth Form (Year 13). The college you are applying to will have told you what grades you need in order to attend. The system has probably changed since I went to Sixth Form but when I went, I had to have obtained at least 5 grades between "A" and "C" in my 'O' Levels (the equivalent of GCSEs). There was no "average grade" - if I didn't pass 5 different subjects (including the three I wanted to study at 'A' Level), then I couldn't go to the college.

As 5jj said, you need to talk to your teachers in Year 12 or someone from Year 13 to find out the correct answer.
