Does he have a sore throat?

    Dear Forum Users,

Don you think 'bronchial' here would indicate that the patient has a sore throat or something?

“Is the doctor at home?” the patient asked in his bronchial whisper. “No,” the doctor’s young and pretty wife whispered in reply. “Come right in.”

    Thank you very much.

    Csika

The only time I have heard the phrase "bronchial whisper" is during a chest examination using a stethoscope.
