    Question producing its share of litigation

    Hi there
    please can anyone tell meaning of "is producing its share of litigation"

    The sentence is "The battle over intelligent design, which is fought in the political
    arena rather than in scientific venues, is producing its share of litigation."

    Did you research the meaning of "litigation"? If not, or if the meaning is still not clear to you - litigation refers to legal actions. Generally, "its share of litigation" means that there has been a number of legal problems and, most probably, a number of lawsuits pertaining to intelligent design. One example is those who believe in intelligent design want it to be taught in public schools (public schools in the US are those schools which are supported by the government), while those who do not believe in intelligent design say that such theories have to no place in education. Invariably, the people on one side of this issue will sue (legal litigation) the other side over this issue.
