    Default Explanation

Please explain the difference in meanings of the words "wish' and 'greet' for wish, especially when we come across someone.

    Thanks!

I see no similarity of meaning between the two words. Can you give examples of sentences in which do are unsure which word to use?

    Default Explanation

Perhaps, I was unable to ask the question; let me tell you a bit more elaborately:

for instance if we come across someone we say "he wished me" or 'he did not wish me'; and if we say for instance if we come across someone we say "he greeted me" or 'he did not greet me'

i hope I have conveyed my problem.

    Thanks!

I wouldn't use these. You could say He wished me well, before something like a test or interview.
