Default recommended/required/necessary for you to do recommended/required/necessary that you.

    Hello again!

Does the structure "recommended/required/necessary for you to do something" mean the same as "recommended/required/necessary that you (should) do something", as in examples below?

It is required for Steven to be on the team. v e r s u s It is required that Steven (should) be on the team.

It is recommended for you to use this powder. v e r s u s It is recommended that you (should) use this powder.

It is necessary for the homework to be done. v e r s u s It is necessary that the homework (should) be done.

What do you think of my invented examples and do you find them acceptable?

    Thank you.

Default Re: recommended/required/necessary for you to do recommended/required/necessary that

I wonder why you don't use simpler (and shorter) constructions.

Stephen has to be on the team.

I recommend that you use this powder.

    The homework must be done.
