More fruit and vegetables or much fruit and vegetables?

I need you advice about this sentence:
The _____ fruit and vegetable_ you eat, the better it is for you.

    Appreciate your interest!

We don't do homework. Your teacher needs to know what you can do, not what we can do.

After you turn it in, if you receive a comment or correction you don't understand, please ask about that.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
