    made for the role.

Does "make for the role" mean "quite proper, a right fit for the role"? Is "He's made" short for "He has made"? Why was present perfect used her? Can't you just say "He makes for the role"? It it because he went through a long consideration of the judges?

5)M:Have you decided which actor will star in our play?
W:Yes, I have. It was a difficult decision, but I chose Ronald.
    ..................
W:No, Ronald has long straight hair...He gave a great performance at the audition.
    .....................
M:Yes, I do now. He's made for the role.

He is made for the role. Not present perfect.
It's as though he were specifically manufactured to play this role.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
