Which one from given above exprsssion is corrrect? I want to write a sentence:

"You should preserve ........... of exam."

I want to say that someone should abide the time (period of time?) that is assigned for the exam.

Do you mean wait until it is the time for the exam or wait for the amount of time that the exam is to take? Who is waiting? What are they waiting for?

In a written exam the invigilator (AE proctor) ensures that the exam starts and finishes at the right times.

Teachers giving students a practice exam to work through unsupervised, might say 'Make sure you don't exceed the time allowed'.

'Proctor' was new to me until I read it in a similar thread some years ago.
