How to differentiate between 'which' and 'which of'? Which (one) is incorrect?

Could you tell me which of the following sentences is/are correct.
Could you tell me which the following sentences is/are correct.

Thanks a lot!

The first is correct. It means "Could you tell me which [sentence/s] of the following sentences is/are correct."

You can omit 'of' after 'which' if you also leave out 'the following':

'Can you tell me which sentences are correct?'
