    Default Re: Applying for Leave

    Dear [Manager's Name]

I would like to take leave on the following dates:

    a. 9 - 10 September inclusive. I have some important work to do at home.

    b. 13 - 16 September inclusive. I need to go out of station with my family.

Please let me know as soon as possible if that is acceptable.

    Yours sincerely

This is quite a formal format, but it makes it absolutely clear which dates you want as leave, and why.
I'm not a teacher of English, but I have spoken it for (almost) all of my life....
