Complex sentence containing relative clauses of any kind

    Hi teacher,

how can I combine theses short sentences in one sentence using relative clauses?

She has written a novel. She wrote it last summer. It had very good write-ups. This has really made her happy. It has also made her want to go on writing.

    Thanks a lot.

Well, I answered in this way

Last summer, she wrote a well write-up novel that made her happy and want to go on writing.

But, I don't know if it is correct.

Re: Complex sentence containing relative clauses of any kind

Why do you want to make a single sentence from all these short ones?

It's almost impossible using relative clauses.

Because this was a question of a English exam... and I didn't know how to answer it.

I don't know how many relative clauses you would like. If two is acceptable, here is a possible sentence:

Last summer, she wrote a novel that received a very good write-up, which made her very happy and encouraged her to continue writing.

Re: Complex sentence containing relative clauses of any kind

Do you mind answer another question about this subject? It is following:

Rewrite the groups of sentence with relative clauses (at least on non-defining relative clause) so as to form one sentence.

"Sandra is a good teacher. You've been to her translation lessons. She holds them at University. We hope she stays on."

Is it correct in this way?

Sandra, whose translation lessons at University you've been, is a good teacher who we hope stays on.

We hope (that) Sandra, a good teacher, whose translation lessons at university you've been to, stays on.
