    result of the game

Today, I asked my friend, (he is a native speaker)

"Do you know the result of the game between AC Milan and PSV?"

    ...but he just said,,what?;;;

Seems like my expression was wrong. Could you explain?

Your question was perfect. There must be some other explanation. Perhaps he didn't hear you clearly?

    Re: result of the game

Maybe he didn't know Milan and PSV were playing. Presumably, after he said "What?", you rephrased your question and got a response. How did you rephrase it in order to get him to answer you. I assume you didn't just give up after his rather abrupt reply!
Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.

There's no need for your weird punctuation.

If you still want to know the score, AC Milan won 3-0.

    Re: result of the game

Maybe your friend is not at all interested in soccer (football in BrE), and your question took him/her by surprise?
Please be aware that I'm neither a native English speaker nor a teacher.

    Re: result of the game

I think your question is disappeared, but if you want to know a result of the game next time, ask Rover.

    Nickle.
If I have made any mistakes, please tell me about them. I need to improve my English anyway and I hope you'll help me.

    Re: result of the game

Was the person you asked American? We don't normally speak of "results" of games. We would ask if you know who won or if you knew the score.

Yes. He is American. Then, should I ask like, "do you know who won between AC milan and PSV?

Yes, that is fine, as I said above.

    Re: result of the game

Thanks. I just want to know if 'between A and B' is right to be there.
