Where does the T come from in the pronunciation of the word, Alzheimer's

Why do about half of the folks on television pronounce Alzheimer's with a T between the L and the H?

The same place it does in "pizza."

    Welcome to the forums, wreckah.

It comes from the German pronunciation of the name Alois Alzheimer. You'll have to ask them why they like a T in it.

    (Or the Italians about 'pizza'.)

The German pronunciation of the letter "z" is "tz".
