    past participle

    Hello,

Oxford - Michael Swan - Practical English Usage

1- The people questioned gave very different opinions.

2- The questioned people gave very different opinions.

I have read the section 2 is wrong according to 'Oxford-Michael-Swan-Practical-English-Usage, page 403', but I couldn't understand why 2 is wrong.

    Thanks.

The first is more natural because it is a shortened version of "The people who were questioned gave ...".
Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.

Thank you for giving the page reference. However, in future, please give details of the edition you are using. In my 3rd edition (2005), it's page 381.
