Hello,

Can I say 'the most favorite thing' or 'my most favorite thing' if ever?

and one more qquestion:

which of the sentences is correct:
It is required that workload for the staff should be reduced.
It is required that workload for the staff be reduced.

or probably both are wrong altogether.
Thank you

When you say 'my most favorite thing' you're implying that is the most favorite thing for YOU.

Playing golf is the most favorite thing for many people, while my most favorite thing is to play basketball. Can you notice the difference?:)

As 'favourite' (British spelling) means 'most liked', 'most favourite' is not generally considered to be good style. However, you will definitely hear it.

5JJ, so saying the most favorite thing is actually incorrect? Or it is correct but considered as a weak grammar?

Hello,

Can I say 'the most favorite thing' or 'my most favorite thing' if ever? When used as an adjective nowadays, favorite means 'liked or preferred over all others.' Therefore, to say 'most favorite' would be redundant.

and one more qquestion:

which of the sentences is correct:
It is required that workload for the staff should be reduced.
It is required that workload for the staff be reduced. This is fine in AmE.

or probably both are wrong altogether.
Thank you

Henry

Some examiners would mark it down as incorrect.
