    Post is approximated

    Hi,

one type which is approximated by all isotope separation plants designed for minimum costs is the so-called ideal cascade.

considering the sentence above, what " is approximated" means?

    Thnaks

You usually write better English than that, Sepmre.

The sentence means nothing to me.

If I'd had any idea, I would have said.

An "ideal" cascade is a type of tapered cascade, which is the most efficient arrangement of centrifuges, such as are used for isotope separation. Since it is actually physically impossible to achieve a 100% effective "ideal" cascade, all real-life isotope separation plants [including those designed for minimum costs] can only come close to, or be similar to, an "ideal" cascade: in other words, they are "approximations" of an "ideal" cascade.
I'm not a teacher of English, but I have spoken it for (almost) all of my life....
