    Default the ancient Olympics were

    I think why "the Olympics" is treated as plural is that it has many games, but I have seen singluar Olympics as well. What do you think?

    82)...Actually, when the ancient Olympics were started in 776 B.C, they were quite different from the Olympics today...

    I think it is normally treated as plural.
