    Default Teaching an adult English

Hi. I was contacted recently to help tutor an adult in using English. It's going to be my first time in teaching an adult in this capacity. We have fixed our first class but I'm still at a loss about how to handle the class. She's an adult, quite busy, travels round the globe for business.

Default Re: Teaching an adult English

    Welcome to the forum, BlessedBiddy.

You can start by assessing her level, and finding out what she needs English for. If she will be mainly reading, what sort of materials will she read? If she will be mainly speaking, will it be face to face or by telephone? Will she be giving presentations, negotiating, meeting people informally, etc? Will she need to write and, if so, what?
