    problems with nor/or

    Hello all,

I am a fencing coach and need some help with my grammar.
I am writing up the class rules for this course and one of them is this:

Never hit anybody with a sabre or foam sabre without the coach's permission.

Is this correct? Do I need to use ''nor'' instead of ''or''? Do I need a comma?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Your sentence is correct as it stands.
I'm not a teacher of English, but I have spoken it for (almost) all of my life....

thanks. After reading it a couple times I thought so myself but sometimes L2 interference with L1 can be a problem.

You may hit people with neither a sabre nor a foam sabre without the coach's permission.
You may not hit people with either a sabre or a foam sabre without the coach's permission.
Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.
