Default her long scarf became caught in the wheel

Does it mean the cause of her death or commemoration of her death? I think the latter.

136)Isadora Duncan was born in San Francisco in 1878.. Tragically, she died in 1929, when her long scarf became caught in the wheel of her car.

Nothing to do with commemoration. The entanglement of the scarf with the wheel was the cause, plain and simple.

I think the scarf, the wheel and the car were in cahoots. They were all accessories.
