    Happen

    "What's all the noise about? ""We had a bad accident ..... at the factory."
    1- happened2- happening3- happen4- had happened

    I have doubt about the accuracy of 2 and 3. Help me

    To be honest, I wouldn't put anything in the blank. The sentence is clear without an addition.

    I wouldn't put anything there either but if I absolutely had to, it would be c).
    Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.

    I would too, but it is in the form of a causative verb structure, which is a little troubling.

    As has been said, there isn't really a correct one. The least incorrect is "happen" but the sentence is fine and more natural without it.

    'happen' is the best choice.
