    New member with questions.

Hi All. My name is Nong , in Thai it means sound of a bell 'Ning Nong'. I live in Bangkok , Thailand.
Please let me ask some questions.
    1. I always have problems with the pronunciation of proper names such as Beaumount city(Bew or Bo , Kenmore Inc. (more or mer) . It would be so kind if you could suggest Dictionaries or Internet sources about proper names pronunciation.
    2. How to pronounce these names , please ?
    - Edgar Kayce , the psychic. (Kay - see or Kais)
    - Charles Kusche , the writer (Koos-chay or Koosh)
    Thank you in advance

American English dictionary that includes pronounciation. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the companies that make British English dictionaries.

    Beaumount - Bo
    Kenmore - more
Kayce - not sure, but I would look at that and say Kais
Kusche - I think most people, including myself, would say "Koosh," but last names are weird like that. It looks German, and he might say it the German way, Koosh-uh. You could probably get away with saying "Koosh" with a tiny bit of "uh" at the end.

    1. Beaumount: In British English, a diaphthong "aU" is used & in American English, the equivalent "OU" diphthong is used. So the diphthong in "Beaumont" is EXACTLY SAME as it occurs in the words like "go", "boat", "coat", etc. & therefore the word:

Beaumont: B.aU.mOnt (in British English) OR "B.OU.mOnt" (in American English).

Notice the different between small & big characters (which is how anyone would differentiate between sound if they DO NOT have IPA font installed in their PC):

    A: last/star
a: ONLY appears with I (small "I") i.e. aI (a diphthong) as in words like "bye/tie/pie"
    O: hOt/nOt
    o: call/paul
    U: pUt/book
    u: move/blue
    I: it/in/sit
    i: eat/seat

    2.
Kayce: keIs (i.e. with the diphthong "eI") as in words like "may/hey/prey/pray/bray/tray"
Kusche: I agree with SunnyDay, on this.
