The text is titled 'The edible woman'. It's a story by Margaret Atwood. What I Got from the text is that the story revolves around two women, one and employee and one the employer. The employer is a short tight woman with hair the color of a metal refrigerator-tray. She makes the employee to sigh a pension plan even if she's too young for that.
But I don't get what 'edible' means here? As I checked the definition it has just something to do with eating. However, if it refers to a person, what could it mean?
Thanks a lot.
