    can't stand ...

    hello,
    is it possbile to use an infinitive after 'can't stand'?
    e.g. "I can't stand to be away from her..."

    I am certain that stand is one of those verbs that takes the -ingform on the following infinitive, ie, "I can't stand being away from her"

    I know it takes a gerund. That's why I am asking. Because I've seen examples with an infinitive.
