Can you help me decide if the prepositions I use in the following are the best choice.
1. The children gathered with the teacher.
Is it OK to say: The children gathered round/ around the teacher. ?
2. After dinner, people gather to/ at/ round/ around the house that had a television. Some even watched through the window.
I choose at/ around. Can to/ round be used here.
Some prepositions make me confused because I don't have chances to practice in real situations (I live in Vietnam.)
I need your help to use them in right ways.
I appreciate your help.

Thank you very much.
They are not my sentences. I found them on the net but I don't believe in the keys so I posted them to ask you.
(After dinner, people gather around the house that had a television. Some even watched through the window. ) Can I use around here or I can only use at?

Around would only cover those watching through the window, while at is general enough to include everyone.

Thank you! When I get lost I'd better ask to find the way.
One more question I want to ask you. In what situation can I use gather with? can you give some example?
Best wishes to all of you.
