    global imitative

    regarding the sentece below:

It is estimated that at least 25% of patients with FEV1/FVC ratio of _70%, which fulfils the global imitative of obstructive lung disease (GOLD)5 definition of COPD, have not smoked.6 This is due to two factors.

    What does "global imitative" means?
What's the function of "imitative"? Is it a noun?

Are you sure you got the word right. Could it have been 'initiative'?

    Re: global imitative

It is: GOLD - the Global initiative for chronic Obstructive Lung Disease. Also, in the site, they capitalise: Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease
