The Joneses' corn did very well this year, so at harvest time they gave us quite....... .

1. many of them
2. a few of them
3. much of it
4. a lot of it

Would you please elaborate on why no.4 is correct? why not no.3? ( And what about changing "many of them" into "many of it"? is it correct too?

#1 is wrong because "quite many" is wrong and "corn" is uncountable so "them" is wrong.
#2 is wrong because "corn" is uncountable.
#3 is wrong because "quite much" is wrong.
"many of it" would also be wrong.
