"These lion cubs, born in a Gaza zoo, have died just two days after birth." Source: BBC news
My version : These lion cubs, born in a Gaza zoo, have died after two days they were born.
Is my version correct?
Isn't there any other way to rewrite the original version?
I am sometimes confused about the use of "after". You would have seen how I had used "after" in my own sentence. So I want to know whether there is another way to rewrite the sentence with the word "after".
You could say, "These lion cubs, born in a Gaza zoo, have died
after, two days after they were born."
The original version does avoid repeating born, though.
