Siamese Fighting Fish are known to be so aggressive that if two males are placed in the same tank, they will fight __________ death.

    a. to
    b. until
    c. to the
    d. towards

I'd choose a. Is there any possibility for c?

    Hi,
I would say "to the death" (c) is correct.
fight to the death: to engage in a battle that isn't finished until one opponent is dead.

The two men looked as though they were going to fight to the death. These evil-tempered dogs will fight to the death.

C is correct. "Fight to the death" means "until one of them dies".
