Dan always beats me at chess

Dan always beats me at chess because he develops such an ..... game plan that I can never predict his next move.
    1. eventual
    2. ambiguous
    3. hegemony
    4. objective

The whole meaning of the test is a bit vague to me. Hence, I can't choose the best answer. Would you please give me a hand?

    Thanks

I don't really like any of the options. They might be looking for 2, but it is an odd question.

Is there any possibility for the word "objective" here?

No. "Convoluted" would be a good choice but of course is not one of your choices. It's almost like the writer didn't fully understand "ambiguous."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    ***NOT A TEACHER***

I have just found this in a test. #3 seems to be the best choice here.

Dan always beats me at chess because he develops such an ..... game plan that I can never predict his next move.
    1. eventual
    2. ambiguous
    3. elaborate
    4. objective
I learn something almost every day on this site.

How did we get such a different #3?
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
