    Question Intoxicating

    Can you use the word intoxicating negatively. Example: That smell is intoxicating.(describing a smell you don't like)

    Outside of its literal sense in relation to alcohol, "intoxicating" always has a positive meaning.
    e.g. exhilarating, exciting, stimulating.
    It does not mean repellent, disgusting etc.
