I am not a native speaker and this was the conversation I had with a not-so-close friend over phone.

Friend: Today's game didn't go too well.
Me: You've got two more, right? You will do well in that.

Now of course, I should have said "those" and not "that" but anyway I made this mistake.

Will this friend take me for someone whose grammar is hideously bad?

I shouldn't think so. We all make slip-ups like that in conversation - particularly, I find, when talking on the telephone.

Don't worry about it: your friend probably didn't notice anything wrong - particularly if his mind was on the result of that day's game.

No- we often make slips like that in speech.

Thanks. :-D
Actually, we were messaging. I did not "say" it but literally "typed" it. Is the slip still normal?

We message at speed, so slips are normal. People don't expect messages and chats to be grammatically perfect- the focus is on communicating instantly.

Only with messages there is proof of your mistake. (Unless your phone conversations are taped as well)

There is, but nearly all of us are guilty. I am.

If you believe the popular media, all our calls, texts and emails are being monitored! ;-)

Guilty of what exactly?
Or is this a too personal question, not to be discussed on such a public forum?
