Default The different phoneme sounds of the vowel '' o ''. (Part II)

    Dear teachers and members:

    *
This is the sequel of the part I

    6
) The /ɜː/ sound. In american English (AmE) /ɜr/.

    a) World / wɜːld/ (AmE) / wɜrld/
    b) Worm / wɜːm/ (AmE) / rm/
    c) Word / wɜːd/ (AmE) / rd/
    d) Work / wɜːk/ (AmE) / rk/
    e) Attorney /əˈtɜːnɪ/ (AmE) /əˈtɜrnɪ/

    NOTE:

    * I have also noticed that when the vowel '' o '' takes the /ɜː/ sound, it is almost between the semivowel or semiconsonant '' w '' and the consonant '' r '', but there are exceptions to the rule.

    7) Strange cases of the spelling '' o '' in some words.

    a) women / ˈwɪmɪn/ short '' I '' sound.

    b) wolf / wʊlf/ short '' oo '' sound

Your assistance and help in this matter will be deeply appreciated.

Note what I said in my response to Part I of your question(s):

As someone who has an interest in the sounds of English, I would like to help you, The apprentice. Unfortunately, I got lost before I was halfway through your post.

Please try to identify specific problems you have, and ask about them one at a time. You can always ask follow-up questions.
