    Default English tenses and conjunctions

    Hi,
    Is it possible to have two tenses in one sentence separated with a conjunction?

    e.g

    1. My suitcase is wet because it's raining.

    My suitcase is wet = Present tense
    because = conjunction
    It's raining = Present continuous tense

    I suppose this isn't possible without a conjunction. Right?

    Your sentence is fine. It could still happen without a conjunction.

    I am stranded here; my brother took the car.
