    falling into shadow??

My father is getting mental ill.
He staggerd and slumped to the living room floor, falling into his own shadow.
I don't understand the underline sentence.

    Re: falling into shadow??

    not a teacher

The father was in the living room and casting a shadow on the floor. When he staggered and collapsed, he fell onto the floor at the place where his shadow was.
