    Question about definite article

Many people in the credit industry expect that __________ credit card will eventually replace _________ paper money for almost every purchase.
The answer is "the credit card" and "/ paper money". My question is why not "the paper money" since both of them are about kind of thing. Thanks for help.

In this context, 'credit card' is countable and 'paper money' is uncountable.

"The" can be used before an uncountable noun, why is it not used before "paper money" in this context?

In this context, "all" paper money will be replaced, not specific paper money.
