Default Ignore us and we ignore you.

I donít know how to express the following in correct English:

Most people ignore us when we try to befriend them and they try to befriend us when we ignore them.

I'm not an English teacher, nor a native English speaker....

"Most people ignore us when we try to befriend them and they try to befriend us when we ignore them"

This looks ok to me as far as grammar is concerned, but translations are always difficult, Arabic being no exception.

Most people ignore us when we try to befriend them and then they try to befriend us when we ignore them (?)
Most people ignore us when we try to befriend them until they try to befriend us when we ignore them (?)

I think you need a specialist Arabic-English translator to help with getting the exact meaning across.

    Otherwise, it looks ok.

I would change this to something like:
Most people ignore us when we try to befriend them and then when they try to befriend us, we ignore them.

The seems to be a reversal of the meaning of the original.

I don't think there is any implication of "then ..." or "until..." in the original, though I don't pretend to know the exact intended meaning. If it is only those people who have rejected our friendship who seek friendship when we ignore them, then it needs to be rewritten.
If the meaning is simply, "When we try to befriend people, most people ignore us. If we ignore people, they try to befriend us" then the original is OK, though I'd omit 'they'.

If it's the sentiment rather than the words, perhaps something more like "We all seem interested in relationships with people who seem the least interested in us."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Or we all want what we can't have.
