    Default listening to NPR

I cannot figure out some words while listening to a clip of the Hourly Newscast program from NPR.
Could someone please be kind enough to help me by filling out the two blanks of the last paragraph which I wrote down after listening to the above-mentioned audio clip?

    Thanks in advance.

Below is the URL of the above-mentioned audio clip of about 5 minute, MP3, 1114KB

More than 100 people are believed to have died when a ferry capsized off the coast of Cameroon in central Africa. NPR's FC reports from neighboring Nigeria.
The first word of the ferry accident off the coast of Cameroon came from local fish men who reported seeing many bodies floating in the water. The boat carrying 150 passengers was on a journey from Nigeria heading to Gabon via Cameroon. It went down in heavy seas off Cameroon's Atlantic port of Kribi. Most of those on board are believed to have drowned. 23 people were rescued after clinging to the wreckage. An official Cameroonian rescue team is searching for any remaining survivors and trying to recover bodies. The passengers were said to be from Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. It's not clear what caused the accident, but this is at least the third reported boat to have sunk this past year in this part of Gulf of Guinea which (3'53")_____________ most of coastal west Africa and a part of central Africa.
