    Before embarking a new relationship

    What's wrong with this sentence?(syntactically)

Before embarking a new relationship, she should try to figure out why all the other men blew her off.

There's a missing preposition. Can you find out what it is?

    Embark takes a preposition.

Re: Before embarking a new relationship

Before embarking "on/upon" a new relationship, she should try to figure out why all the other men blew her off. ( The rest is O.K.?)

That's fine. '... blew her off' is rather informal. It's not an expression I'd use.

I would (and do) use the expression, but not in the same sentence as "embarking".
