Re: help me in writing a letter

Please tell your mother I wish her a very happy birthday.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Your girlfriend isn't going to care about grammar.

The "you are mine" part is a little creepy.

She's most likely going to say something like "Raj sends his best wishes for a really great birthday" so you probably don't need to put that much thought into it.

Re: help me in writing a letter

I am writing what follows as a general note rather than a direct response to rajbir's question.

People from some parts of the world, both speakers of other languages and native speakers of their variety of English, often use a rather more 'flowery' language than most native speakers of English from the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Barb's suggestion in post #2 is all that most of us would say, even to somebody we actually knew. This does not suggest lack of respect. It's simply that we find effusive expression rather embarrassing.
