- For Teachers
Hi everybody, I'm Alessandro and I'm from Italy. My english is not so good, but I try to make myself understood...
I'm very glad I found this forum, because I'd really need some advices on how to write an email to a university, asking for information (entry requirements, deadlines,...).
Here's my situation: deadlines are set on 15/01, so I'm apparentely late... And most universities requires IELTS or TOEFL certificates, but I've only gotten the F.C.E. (Cambridge English: First (FCE) ? Upper-intermediate English language exam | Cambridge English), passed with Grade B (78/100).
I would like to ask the admission office of some universities whether I'm eligible or not, and if I may send the application through UCAS anyway, even if I'm late.
Here's a draft of the email... I would be very thankful if you could correct it and give me some advices. I've never done this before, so I could really use a little help
I'm an italian student attending the fifth year of Liceo Scientifico. I am writing this email to ask some information about your Biological Science course.
I read on your website that the deadlines are set on the 15th of January, so I'm definitely late. I wonder if there are any possibilities I could send my application through the UCAS website anyway; I would be very thankful to have the chance to do so.
Furthermore, I read that you recognise IELTS, TOEFL and PTE certificates; do you accept other certificates in addiction to these ones? I achieved grade B in the First Certificate in English (F.C.E.) of Cambridge University, so I would like to know if you consider it an eligible alternative.
Thanks in advance.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
