    Question underwent

    hi
    could u tell me the meaning of "underwent"?
    the whole sentence is:

    ...and that president Reagon wasn't really unconscious while he UNDERWENT minor surgery.

    Hello again AL

    "Underwent" is the past tense of "undergo". "To undergo" is "to be subject to" or "to go through" or "to suffer".

    So "he underwent surgery" means "he was subject to surgery" or "he had an operation".
