    Which would you use in this semtance and why?
    Having fun and playing games is an important part of growing up.
    Or...
    Having fun and playing games are an important part of growing up.

    It depends. If you see fun and games as one thing, then use the singular. If you see them as separate things, then use the plural. I'd probably use the plural.
